34 weeks!

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

Dear Macyn 4

Dear Macyn,

We had our baby shower today! You are SO very loved....now I just want you to be here!
I want you to be here so badly its almost painful! My heart yearns to hold you and kiss you and love you! I imagine you in all these little clothes! I imagine laying you down into your beautiful crib! I imagine winding your mobile for you! I imagine reading books to you! I imagine snuggling with you! I imagine feeding you and changing you and swaddling you! I imagine bathing you and smelling your clean skin!

I just can't wait.

Please hurry up!

....but please take your time! I want you big, strong, and healthy! So how about we agree upon the first week of October or so?

I love you little girl! I love you with all of my heart, forever and always!
Love,
Mommy
